The band's unique name came about when Blevins arrived at an intersection in Denton where Mingo Road meets Fishtrap Road. Owl City

Adam Young, the real name behind the moniker Owl City, has become a pop sensation in the true sense of the phrase �overnight success.� He�s the magic behind the hit single �Fireflies� which recently gained Triple Platinuim status and is the #1 song in 22 countries. It also became the most downloaded song on iTunes in the U.S. His second single �Vanilla Twlight� also met with success on the Billboard Hot 100.

Owl City got its start when Young found himself with his whole house to himself in June of 2007. It was then that Young began recording what was to become his self-released digital EP. When he put it up on Myspace he had no idea the hysteria that was to ensue. The infectious electronica rhythms paired with meaningful and witty lyrics caught the attention of everyone who was to stumble upon it.

Eventually, demand for a full length album became too great to ignore and he independently released Maybe I�m Dreaming in March of 2008. Owl City caught the attention of Universal Republic and in 2009, Young released his major label debut album Ocean Eyes through the label. Owl City�s music creates an atmosphere that is uniquely its own and promises to immerse its audience into a separate world.
